      More than an Artist

Steve Higgins is a singer, soloist, conductor, musician, and performer who dedicates his life to lifting people's spirits with music.

He found his voice through the occasional request to sing for family events, and continued his journey by singing at churches and chorales around Jamaica.

After relocating to South Florida, the passion for music developed even further as Steve began traveling internationally to perform for a multitude of events and organizations around the world.

His performing troupe may include Amaya Lewis, Dahlia Wynter, April Marr and occasionally his son Matthew. They create an unforgettable experience in sound and visuals by combining music and dance on stage.

The goal of each performance is to leave the audience with positive and optimistic appreciation for life.

Steve's family supports his passion and provide his inspiration.

    • South Florida Caribbean Chorale

      A Community Built from Passion

The South Florida Caribbean Chorale (SFCC) was founded in April 2004 by its Director Steve Higgins and has, in each succeeding year, led the annual Ecumenical service commemorating the anniversary of Jamaica’s independence, hosted by the Jamaican Consulate General in Miami.

Today the SFCC comprises 35 Caribbean voices from over 20 church choirs across the South Florida tri-county region.

They have also performed with internationally acclaimed groups such as the Soweto Gospel Singers.

Its mission is to preserve, expose and present a variety of Caribbean, choral, traditional/folk, religious & cultural music through performances and workshops across the Diaspora.

The SFCC gives back to the community through its annual Christmas concerts, Easter recitals and various fundraisers, contributing through the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) and other agencies to causes such as the Haiti Earthquake Recovery Fund, the Bahamas Hurricane Disaster Response and the Stop Hunger Now program.
